Plenty of businesses already have software. The problem is that it’s become slow, fragile or hard to change. Rebuilding from scratch is expensive and risky — and often unnecessary.
Modernisation focuses on improving what you already have while protecting the investment you’ve made in it. Software can usually be improved a great deal without starting again.
What this looks like
- Legacy PHP migration and codebase restructuring
- Moving older front-ends to React
- Performance improvements and security updates
- Adding APIs and integrations to existing systems
- Infrastructure and deployment improvements
How I approach it
I start by understanding what’s actually causing the pain, and I measure before changing anything rather than assuming. From there we improve in steps, keeping the system working throughout instead of betting everything on a risky rewrite.
